Hi,

Gautam> 1) is it permitted that a process that has not joined a group can
Gautam> SP_multicast() to it?

Yes. This is called "open group semantics" and is one of the strong
points of the Spread architecture.

Gautam> 2) if answer is yes, are there any perf. implications of being a member
Gautam> or not?

Thanks to the open group semantics, it is best for a process to join
a group (be a member of a group) ONLY if that process needs to
RECEIVE messages sent to the group.

     Cheers,

     :) Yair.
