We started using Spread 3.16.0 and then moved to 3.16.0 patch 1, then 
3.16.1 beta 1 and all of these crashed after running for a while.

3.16.1rc1 has been flawless for us for several weeks, and we're anxious 
to move to 3.16.1 final.

I'd HIGHLY recommend upgrading to the current version. I have a feeling 
that your problem will be fixed, though the error that we received was a 
different one than you are seeing.
