[Spread-users] General Question

I saw both questions, but I'm not familiar with Delphi or MingGW, so I refrained from responding. I am not aware of any Delphi specific bindings though.

To your question, I will say that Spread is very portable C code. If your platform supports ANSI C (1989 standard), BSD sockets and select, then it should easily port there. It uses autoconf scripts which should allow it to port to most *nix platforms very easily. If you are in a different kind of environment, then you made need to provide the appropriate #defines in the architecture specific files (e.g. - arch.h). You can use the win32 portions as a guide on how to do that.

Cheers!

Ok. I asked because of the lack of traffic on the mailing list. I am investigating Spread on an R&D project and posted a question about building it with MinGW and someone else asked a question without any replies. That is usually a sign of a dead project.

Not at all. It is very mature though, so not many changes are being made any more.

Cheers!

Is this project defunct?
