[Spread-users] Spread 3.17.4 FAILED privilege drop to user/group

I have a user and group defined in /etc/spread.conf for the spread
daemon however when I start spread I get this error:


Spread: FAILED privilege drop to user/group 'spread/spread' (defined in
spread.conf or spread_params.h)

And the spread daemon exists.

Any idea why?
