[Spread-users] SP_error: (-2) Could not connect. Is Spread running?

Hi All!
I am unable to check the status of spread .
after executing a command
#./spread -c /usr/local/etc/spread.conf -n host2 -l y
shell displays one certificate kind of write up and only line
"Conf_load_conf_file: using file: /usr/local/etc/spread.conf"
and blank screen with no promt line it seems spread is working but after executing a command
#spuser
It throws an error
"SP_error: (-2) Could not connect. Is Spread running?"
Entries in log file are:

If things are fine what will be the next step and how to connect other system say "host1" to "host2".
If not what should i do to start the spread.
