We wound up doing similar.  Hex would be more compact.

Spread_Segment 10.10.20.255:4803 {
   N010010020040    10.10.20.40 {
     10.10.20.40
     127.0.0.1
   }
}

This sounds like a candidate for the "Spread Best Practices" document, 
if there were such a thing.
