[Spread-users] broadcast would impact other nodes in LAN ?

hello,
 
I have an subnet, such as 192.168.1.255, in which 100 nodes live. 
Now, I build a spread application with 10 machines, 
and Spread_segment use broadcast address 192.168.1.255:3333,
such as :
 
Spread_Segment 192.168.1.255:3333 {
   node0  192.168.1.10
   node1  192.168.1.11
   node2  192.168.1.12
   ...
   node9 192.168.1.19
}
 
what I want to know is :
Would packets broadcasted by the spread-application impact communication performance of other nodes?
Where can I find some experiments and reports?
