Hi,

When there is only one daemon in the segment, the segment
multicast/broadcast address is never used (of course).

I think there is a problem in your network setup. To verify
it has nothing to do with Spread, just use the spsend and sprecv programs
that are provided with Spread and see if the multicast addresses
you are using actually work as expected in your network. These
are very simple programs that help (without Spread) see if the
network behave as you tell Spread it should - i.e. that the unicast
addresses and the multicast addresses really work on your network
as expected.
