[Spread-users] Spread Protocols

Hi !

I'm writing a Master Thesis about distributed systems within the DeDiSys
Research Project. We are using Spread for group communication and
membership.
Currently I'm searching for inforamtion about spread protocols. I have
different informations: One document describes two protocols, Ring for
multicast and Hop for point to point communication (The Spread Wide Area
Group Communication System, year 2000). The second document describes
three protocols, Ring, Hop and a point to point protocol (Spread User
Guide, 2004).

My question: Can anybody give me a short overview about actual
implemented protocols and use cases ? Can I switch  between these
protocols, or are they automatically used ? Is there an up to date
documentation available?
