[Spread-users] ring and hop protocols

To add to my recent reply to a similar message:

The open source version of Spread basically uses a very robust 
implementation of the ring protocol.  There is also a research version 
of Spread, the subject of Jonathan Stanton's PhD thesis, which uses both 
protocols as part of its improved wide-area network support.

 From what I know, we're looking for people to be involved in work to 
improve the robustness of the research version's implementation.
