[Spread-users] Idea for new configuration data mechanism

I've been thinking about the logistical issues one has to deal with in a
spread network as far as ensuring that all spread daemons have the same
config file, and this one came to mind:

What if was possible to invoke spread thus:

spread --configprog='/usr/local/bin/getSpreadConfig.pl'

such that spread would execute the specified program and use it's stdout
as it's config 'file'. This would make it possible for the spread
config file to come from a web server, for instance. No more
'synchronizing of the config file on numerous filesystems' headaches.

Opinions? Better ideas?
